World War II and the Korean War kept the
squadron away from Ohio. In 1952, the 112th
Fighter Bomber Squadron flew its P-51
Mustangs to Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio.
When Toledo Express Airport opened in 1955,
the 112th moved to the new airfield and began
flying F-84 Thunderjets. MAPS Air Museum is
now located at the Akron Canton Airport complex.
