October 1, 2014 was a very proud day for the crew of the T-28. They have been working for the past year to prepare the aircraft for reassembly. Today they began the process by placing the fuselage on her wings. This aircraft will be beautiful once completed. Congratulations and great job.
On November 1, 2014 MAPS Air Museum will host our second annual Veterans Celebration II. Val Kinney is coordinating the event. For more information and to download the registration form, click on the picture.

Thank you goes out to The Pro-Football HOF Committee for inviting MAPS to this year’s parade. A special thanks to the Jackson Police, North Canton Police and all of the MAPS Members who helped transport the airplane to the parade. Several MAPS Members walked in the parade along with Dr. Richard Maioriello’s family. Doc is the owner of the F9F Cougar and actually flew this aircraft for the Navy. Thanks Doc for letting us put her in the parade.
The first annual MAPS Legacy Awards. Three veterans will receive this award at Canton’s First Friday event on July 4th. The award ceremony will take place at the old “Kresge” block located between 3rd and 4th streets on Market Ave North. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm and last about an hour.

There are 4 positions open and 6 members who have agreed to run. Voting procedures have been explained in a previous post, scroll down to see this information. The results of the voting will be announced at our annual Membership Meeting on Saturday June 21, which starts at 11:00.

Saturday June 21 will be a very busy day at MAPS Air Museum. The annual membership meeting will be at 11:00 am, the P-51 Dedication at 2:00 pm and the annual membership picnic at 5:00 pm.

Click HERE or on the picture to see more pictures of the mounting. We mounted Jean Ann II on her pole on Saturday April 12 at 1:00pm. It took about 45 min to complete the activity. The crew still has to add the canopy, the air scoop panels do some touchup to the and paint the pole before she is finished.

Work will now begin on the rest of the monument. Limestone, stanchions, chain and a walkway made from pavers donated by the Belden Brick Company.
