MAPS Air Museum in the News – Vintage Aviation NewsMay 28, 2024MAPS Air Museum Closed for Electrical WorkJune 13, 2024 From Ken Ramsay: Dan has made and installed the leading edge on the J-3 Cub’s left wing. Dave is assembling the wing fold mechanism for the Corsair. And the first part of the wing fold hinge has been installed on the left inner wing. Went on screaming and kicking, right Bill? Dennis is forming the Corsair’s leading edge ribs. A big thank you to the Bowdil Company for annealing the rib pieces for us. Gary is getting new axels made for the Corsair’s landing gear. Paul continues to work on the F-105’s centerline pylon. And the pylon is coming along. The left and right wing pylons have been installed on the F-105 (top photo also). Bob and Mike continue to work on the Cutlass right wing tip. I cut out the PVC piece for one of the Cutlass wing doors, aluminum is next then assembly. The F-84 has a new weapons system installed.
