Renovation Activities ~ 9/27/20
September 27, 2020From Ken Ramsay:
- The wings were installed on the OV-1 today (6 photos). Right wing on.
- Left wing up.
- Easy does it.
- A little more.
- Success.
- The Beech is getting its beauty treatment.
- The new skin on the Corsair has been primed.
- The damaged Drake underbelly is coming along. Look at all of those Clecos holding the structure together.
- The first F-102 drop thank tail cone is taking shape. Rolling a cone is a very exacting process.
- I’m working on repairing the wind damaged F-102 elevon. All of the old rivets and screws have been removed. Now to reassemble it.
- Paul began finish shaping the F-105’s stabilator right tip. Sanding and body putty. We are waiting for rib installation to finish the left outer leading edge.
- Carl continues to make nose cones for the Sparrow missiles. We need 8.

- Flags at half-staff for the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
- John and Ken working on the Drake damage from last springs tornado storm.
- Chet & Mike spray a non-reflective black paint on the cockpit-side of the engine cowlings so the pilots would not be blinded by the glare of the silver.
