Dave fabricated the end plate for the Corsair’s left inner wing and Dennis and Bill began riveting it in place.
John Harris’s Cassutt has been painted and looks great (2 photos).
And the propeller has been delivered.
The slat on the Cutlass wing hindered access to the wing skin. Dan looked at the assembly and determined that only 3 bolts hold the slat to the wing. The bolts were removed (no easy task) giving us better access to the wing leading edge and the underside of the slat for cleaning and painting (2 photos).
Bob continues to work on the Cutlass wing tip.
The damaged areas of the Cutlass canopy have been removed.
Jerry is working to patch the corroded areas of the canopy aft end (top photo also).
We have 3 more students helping with the Cutlass. They are learning basic metal work such as forming, cutting, drilling, tapping, riveting, etc.
