Renovation Activities ~ As of 2/14/25
February 14, 2025From Ken Ramsay:
- The damage to the F-104’s fuselage is being repaired.
- As is the damaged nose cone.
- And one wing has been brought in for restoration.
- One thing missing in the restoration building was a method to lift equipment and aircraft components. This was solved last week by the installation of a large beam with two lifting casters. The following photos show the installation of the beam. Due to some precise planning it fit perfectly without any adjustments needed.
- Ready to lift.
- Going up.
- Fitting left end into the mounting structure.
- Fitting right end.
- It’s installed.
- Welding anti-sway structure (and finish job on top photo).
- The V-1 BuzzBomb has been painted.
- And some insignia applied.
- Dan is working on the Cutlass’s left accessory compartment.
- Paul is restoring the right intake area on the Cutlass.
- And removing the windscreen screws is proving to be a real pain.
- No it is not a jail cell, it is a new sheet stock rack.
