Renovation Activities ~ As of 3/18/25
March 18, 2025From Ken Ramsay:
- The Cutlass windscreen has been disassembled and is being cleaned.
- The nose cone has been primed and installed. Need to install a lower attachment bolt as the locking pins are shot.
- Dan is trying to loosen upper panel fasteners which have 60 years of rust.
- One panel was missing (left), just covered with a patch, the other panel is the one Dan is trying to remove. (top photo is finished panel)
- And installed.
- And when he is not on top, Dan is trying to remove the instrument panel.
- Paul is installing screens in the F-84 to keep birds and critters out.
- And when he is not working on his F-84F, he helps out on the Cutlass.
- The F-104 nose cone is being primed (2 photos).
- And the F-104 has been moved out to the ramp. Guess what, the T-33 main and nose wheels fit the F-104 very nicely.
- The under side damage to the F-104 wing has been repaired. Now to flip the wing over and see what needs to be done on that side.
- Pat found new seat covers in the aft end of the GoodYear gondola and installed them. Really looks nice.
- A new entryway display features the 987th Armored Field Artillery Battalion from Canton and Ray Weber (BGen ret) who recently flew west.
