Renovation Activities ~ As of August 15, 2022August 15, 2022Normal Visiting Hours during the NEO Coffee & Cars ShowAugust 25, 2022 From Ken Ramsay: The rocket noses in the M-61 rocket pod on the Cobra started to disintegrate. So, using Jim Boyea’s suggestion I made new ones using fence post top cones. Installed on the right side with lots of help from Dan. Left side noses are in process. Mary and Bill continue to paint the hanger. Looks great. The T-28 is getting new nose paint. We have found that orange and red paint don’t weather well. Here is the Cutlass taken by Rick from the top of the F-105. Needs a little work. Hole on top of the F-105’s right wing above the gear well. Patch installed. It is reinforced so it can be walked on. Overall view of the right wing. We removed the Sabre’s right wing from the vertical cart and placed it flat on top of the left wing. And then we tried to install the right flap. It wouldn’t install although we had trial fit the rails before attached them to the wing. Lying down on the job attaching the flap locking mechanism (Kathy Jo photo) The right flap is on. The H-19’s engine has been put in place after extensive work on cooling shrouds and exhaust manifold. The Corsair’s right main wing spar is complete. Left spar is in work. Part of the Corsair’s landing gear attachment fittings are in work made of steel. Ray is assembling trim tabs for the Corsair. And Tom is working on the elevator actuation mechanism. Yes, the elevators and rudder will work when completed. Share
