On the F-105’s aft section we discussed whether to just patch the damaged areas or remove and replace an entire panel. So, I’ve removed two panels on the right side and decided to patch one area as removing the entire panel is very time consuming, having to drill out over 100 large rivets. On the left side one panel has been removed (screaming and kicking) and one damaged area has been repaired using a backing plate and body putty. This is an experiment to see how it comes out. (photo above too)
A new floor panel has been installed in the H-19. The original floor panel was full of corrosion and missing areas.
The refurbished tanks have been installed on the F-102. Final sanding and priming is next.
One of the Corsair’s horizontal stabilizers has been finished and primed. With Dave and Bill under the weather, Santa’s helpers must be coming in and working.
Chet continues to work on the F-86A. Gear doors have been cleaned and primed…..
