Mr. Ward J. Timken has been very good to MAPS over the years. This was very visible when he gave his vote of confidence back in 2001. “Lets turn the main hangar over to MAPS Air Museum to see what they can do with it.” Since then we have appreciated his business advise and financial support. We are very pleased that we have been able to accomplish so much from the support that we have received from all of the Timken Foundations. [20xx] Capital Improvement Grant – This was a major grant for the renovation of the first floor restrooms on the North-West side, the restrooms off the gift shops and the renovation of the gift shop.

[07-22-2011] Louise Timken Foundation – Capital Improvement Grant – This grant is for the improvements for the Louise Timken Library.  The new location for the Library is located in one of the large rooms on the North West side of the big hanger.  The grant covers; heating & air conditioning, modification to the sprinkler heads, repair of the drop ceiling, installation of bookshelves, painting, door repair, installation of new carpet and complete renovation of the small back room.

[08-01-2011] Louise Timken Foundation – Capital Improvement Grant – This grant is for the purchase of equipment to be used in the new library renovation.

[09-26-2012] Ward and Joy Timken Foundation – A grant was received in support of three projects. 1) Modifying the sprinkler system to provide access to the second story of the main hanger. 2) Blocking and bricking the windows outside of the Louise Timken Aviation Library or 3) Repairing the roof to the restoration building. [08-01-2015] Ward and Joy Timken Foundation – Support for the Ohio National Guard and Ohio Military Museum Room

[08-02-2015] Ward and Joy Timken Foundation – A grant was received in support of the first project of the second floor of the hangar. The grant will be used to renovate the West corner room to house the Ohio Military Museum and the Ohio National Guard. This is one of the most important steps that we will make for the future, the second story renovation will make a significant impact on our ability to create new events and generate rental revenue.

[09-26-2015] Timken Foundation of Canton – Support for the 2nd floor elevator, the hangar radiant heater installation, the elevator lobbies and the exterior brick facing project.
