Renovation Activity Update 10-10-19
October 10, 2019Restoration/Event Activity Update 10-18-19
October 18, 2019We recently had representatives visit from Oshkosh and the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Both groups made the same comments. They were amazed at the stories we were telling about the people. They said,” We have airplanes and tell stories about them, but your stories about the people are fantastic”. That is what makes us special! Our visitors see the passion that resonates from the MAPS Volunteers who tell these stories.
One way we learn about these stories is through our Veterans Celebration at MAPS. This year will be our seventh program on Nov. 9th.
This event will honor all US veterans, add feathers to our “Fallen Feather Memorial of Ohio” and dedicate our F-16 Fighting Falcon to the memory of Lt. Col. Kevin “Sonny” Sonnenberg, KIA 2007 in Iraq. He was from the 180th FW, 112th FS in Toledo, OH. Not only will his family, friends and members of the 180th FW, past and present attend, but we will have an F-16 fly in from the squadron and spend the day at MAPS. Music will be provided by a 90 member orchestra- The New Horizons.
Although this event is open to the public, you must have a reservation to attend, due by October 23.
The cost is $20 per person and seating is limited. Pick up a reservation form in our lobby.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see the story of Lt. Col. Sonnenberg be created.
